  • Read and understand the course policies as outlined in the syllabus
  • Explore the course website for week to week schedule, practice vocabulary and grammar in quizlet, and test out your daily funwork.
  • Explore resources available online for Latin and mythology
  • Learn the rules for pronunciation and practice reading Latin aloud
  • Learn the lands around the Mediterranean Sea and the mythological story of Europa from Ovid’s Metamorphoses.
  • Learn about Latin as an inflected language, word order, cases; interrogatives
  • Learn about verbs; Genitive Case; nouns in -us; in + Acc.; historical present

Week 1 Schedule: (Aug. 23-27)

DAILY FUNWORK (remember you must complete at least 4 funworks (~10-15 min.) each week)

M: Introduction; Ch. 1: Charta Geōgraphica
HW: Learn Vocabulary for Chapters 1-2; Reread story in Ch.1; read story of Europa in translation
